Nestled in the historic Irvington District of Portland, Oregon, the Lion and the Rose is known for its grandeur. Guests have come from around the world, to revel in the history, class and beauty of the inn. The Inn offers all the amenities to help you create your own special and unique event of a lifetime.

The Front and Middle Parlor can accomodate indoor showers and weddings for up to 30 guests. Weddings Receptions held on the first floor can accommodate up to 50 guests with buffet food service. The beautiful antique furniture, high ceilings, chandeliers and rich woodwork are an impeccable backdrop for pictures.

The the Garden Court with gazebo and wrap-around porch offer a delightful backdrop for outdoor events for up to 50 guests.

Bridal Showers

Bridal Shower for 10 to 30 Guests
$400 plus $25 per person for refreshments

A grand yet informal setting for family and friends to honor the bride.
Package includes:
  • Use of Dining Room & Parlors or Garden court for 4 hours in the afternoon
  • Use of Lion and the Rose dessert plates, cups, glasses, silverware, table linens and decorative paper napkins
  • Lion and the Rose provides food preparation, set-up, replenishing and clean-up

    Refreshments can include:
  • Finger sandwiches or appetizers
  • Crudités or fruit platter
  • Cake or sweets
  • Tea, coffee, sparkling water or punch
    Event Schedule:

    A luxurious and affordable way for a small group of family and friends to honor your marriage vows.

    Typical Event Schedule:
  • Set-up starting 1 hour before the event

    Middle Parlor or Garden Court Ceremony
    for up to 20 Guests - $400
    for up to 30 Guests - $600
    for up to 50 Guests - $750
    for up to 75 Guests - $900 (Garden Court only)

    A unique and charming in-town venue for family and friends to gather, mingle and celebrate.

  • Use of guest room for the afternoon and night of the event
  • Breakfast for 2 the morning after the event
  • Lion and the Rose greeter providing parking directions to guests at the start of the event
  • Lion and the Rose staff presence during the event
    Food & Beverage Service: Provided by an approved caterer
    Event Schedule:
  • Event set-up can start at Noon on the day of the event
  • The caterer can deliver food starting at noon on the day of the event
  • Guests can arrive starting at 1pm
  • If not renting whole house, guests must depart by 5pn
  • If not renting whole house, cater clean-up must be finished by 6pm
  • If renting whole house, event guests must depart by 8pm

    Food & Beverage Service: Provided by an approved caterer
    Event Schedule:
  • Deliveries and set-up can start at Noon of the day of the event
  • Event guests can arrive starting at 1pm
  • Event guests must depart by 5pn
  • Tear-down completed by 6pm of the day of the event

    Summertime Wedding Ceremony & Reception in the Garden Court
    for up to 50 Guests - $2,500

    A unqiue outdoor flower-filled venue for elegant and more reserved events.
    This package encompasses 48 hours and includes:
  • Use of Garden Court and Front Porch for up to 4 hours for the event
  • Use of Front Porch if desired
  • Use of a guest room for two nights, starting at 1pm the day before the event through 11am the day after the event, with breakfast for two both monrings
  • Use of 50 white folding chairs, eight 60" round tables, two 72" x 30" rectangular tables and smaller service tables
  • Lion and the Rose greeter providing parking directions to guests at the start of the event
  • Lion and the Rose staff presence during the event
    Food & Beverage Service: Provided by an approved caterer
    Event Schedule:
  • Event set-up can start at Noon of the day before the event
  • Delivery of supplies that do not require refrigeration can start at Noon of the day before the event
  • The caterer can deliver food starting at noon of the day of the event
  • Guests can arrive starting at 1pm
  • If not renting whole house, event guests must depart by 5pn
  • If not renting whole house, cater clean-up must be finished by 6pm
  • If renting whole house, event guests must depart by 8pm
  • If renting whole house, cater clean-up must be finished by 9pm
  • Tear-down completed by Noon of the day after the event

    Use of Outside Caterers

    Food and beverage service can be provided by an approved caterer with a business license operating on an "all in, all out" basis:
  • The caterer will provide all food, beverages, table linens, china, glassware, silverware and servingware
  • Caterer can deliver food starting at noon on the day of event with ice chests if cold storage is requried
  • The caterer can use the Lion and the Rose kitchen to heat andplate food previosuly prepared and brought in by caterer
  • The caterer must provide sufficient staff for delivery, preparation, food service, replenishment during the event, and clean-up
  • The caterer will remove all garbage
  • The caterer must meet with the Lion and the Rose staff for a planning session at least two weeks prior to the event

    Event Policies and Restrictions

    Because the Lion and the Rose operates as a bed and breakfast in a residential zone the following conditions apply to all events:
  • Maximum of 50 at a time attending indoor events; maximum of 75 at a time attending outdoor events
  • Non-residents guests must depart events by the end of the event
  • No smoking in the building
  • Alcohol limited to wine and champagne
  • No amplified music, DJs or dance floor
  • Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times; children cannot roam the property unattended
  • Decorations cannot be mounted with nails or destructive tape
  • Special parking arrangements required

    Event Payment

  • 25% deposit required to hold group or event reservations
  • Payment in full is required at least 30 days prior to arrival
  • Single person must pay for the enitre booking
  • A 15% gratuity is charged and divided among the Lion and the Rose staff who prepare for, support and clean-up after the event
